Nut Lovers’ Breakfast Porridge

Nuts, nuts, and more nuts! This recipe for nut lovers uses sliced almonds, pecans, walnuts, and pistachios to give you a daily dose of healthy omega-3 fatty acids and powerful antioxidants that can help you recover after a hard workout. Ingredients
½ cup of medium or thick plain quick rolled oats
½ cup of rolled barley flakes
¼ cup of natural slivered almonds
¼ cup of natural chopped walnuts
½ scoop of chocolate Organic New Zealand iso – whey or plant based protein powder
⅓ cup of ground wheat germ
¼ cup of natural chopped pecans
¼ cup of natural hazelnuts
1 tablespoon of hazelnut chocolate spread
Directions
1. Mix the ingredients together in a large bowl. Transfer to an airtight container. If you will be storing for longer periods of time, consider keeping the cereal in the freezer or refrigerator.
THIS DISH CAN BE SERVED EITHER HOT OR COLD.
2. To serve hot, add ½ cup of the porridge mixture to ½ cup of water or unsweetened milk and bring to a boil. Simmer for 3-5 minutes.
3. To serve cold, soak ¼ cup of the porridge mixture in ½ cup of yogurt or unsweetened almond milk for 5-10 minutes, or soak overnight.
